Apnalaya’s Poornima Nair speaks to Times of India on how inflation is making the poor eat worse or less. She says that when a family hits a financial crisis, the first thing that is impacted is food intake. “Not only have we seen low food intake among under-privileged communities, but this also results in low nutritional intake, leading to chronic malnutrition that can lead to low birth weight, stunted growth, anemia among children and adolescents.”
