The Education & Livelihoods Programme takes into account the harsh realities prevalent in the area, including meagre employment opportunities, low skill sets and poor aspiration among people. In a bid to break the persisting cycle of inter-generational marginalisation, the programme focuses on the holistic development of an individual, particularly adolescents, youth and women.
We work on Education, Employability and Empowerment (E3) of adolescents and youth through group scholarships, life skills training, fellowships for higher education and enhanced work readiness skills. Within this, we launched a group scholarship programme in December 2018 which is an initiative to empower adolescents through education and livelihoods opportunities. It seeks to provide group educational scholarships to about 300 adolescents in schools, in M East Ward in Mumbai.
